Come See What's New...
Hear Barry's song in the film Juno

"Barry Louis Polisar is an American treasure."
All Ears Guide for Children
"Wickedly funny!"
Parenting Magazine
"He's a one-man symphony of comic anarchy.
At a time when vast numbers of our kids see school as endless drudgery,
Polisar says otherwise. He says, isn't the English language fun?"
The
Baltimore Sun
Baltimore, Maryland
"Barry Louis Polisar sings songs, plays guitar, reads from his books, recites poetry and tells stories. Most important, he gives kids the giggles. Tons of giggles. And the children might be joined by chuckling parents that Polisar entertained 30 years ago."
The Washington Post Washington, DC

Who is Barry Louis Polisar...
...and why are they saying all these things about him?
Barry Louis Polisar is a true pioneer
in the world of books and music for children, influencing an entire generation of singers and performers for kids. He is a four-time Parents’ Choice
Award winner and began writing and recording songs for children
in 1975. Thirty years later his songs and stories still stand
out as refreshing and unique.
Barry has written numerous children's books,
poems and stories and travels throughout the United States and Europe
as a visiting
author in schools and libraries.
His songs and
stories can be heard on radio and television and Barry has performed at The
White House, The Smithsonian and The Kennedy Center for the
Performing Arts. He has written songs for Sesame
Street and The Weekly
Reader, starred in an Emmy Award-winning television show for children, and
has been featured regularly on The Learning Channel. Barry is also heard singing his song All I Want is You in the opening credits of the movie Juno.
Barry continues to work with
literacy groups, media specialists, reading teachers and Title I programs in schools and libraries throughout the US and was awarded a Special Library
Recognition Award for his "ability to communicate with
and excite children to read." The Los Angeles Times called his work "timeless" and he has been described as a "clown, poet, minstrel and the best kind of hero: outrageous and irreverent all under the license of being irrepressibly funny."
Welcome to the world of Barry
Louis Polisar.... for those
who want children's books and songs that are witty, intelligent and
a little different. |
